While we may be trying to savour the last of the bright and sunny days, those who attended the Penthouse Conversations talks hosted by London City Island throughout the summer will no doubt already be missing these enjoyable events. 

Penthouse Conversations was a new and eclectic series of discussions that took place in our stunning new Penthouse, located on the 25th floor of Corson House. The twin Penthouses are beautifully designed and luxurious, featuring dramatic double-height ceilings of 6.7 metres and huge wraparound terraces that provide panoramic views of the London skyline. Guests who attended the Penthouse Conversation events were among the first people to see this architectural marvel, and the incredible vistas proved an engaging and unique backdrop to the different themes explored in each of the six events.

The discussion panels at each one welcomed a selection of experts who presented their nuanced views of the topics in question. These included actor-turned-addiction charity founder Paul Sculfor, former GQ editor and journalist Dylan Jones, and City AM wine writer Libby Brodie. In some instances, the speakers included creatives who call the island home. Among these were photographer and gallery owner Sokari Higgwe, haute couture designer Lulu Liu and HUM Yoga Studio founder Oriana Shepherd.

As well as the in-conversation and audience Q&A format, guests had the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities, from an exclusive jazz performance from musical virtuoso Reuben James, to a tasting evening of rare and unique wines. The magnificent Penthouse provided space for guests to congregate outside, meeting one another as they enjoyed canapés and drinks supplied by neighbourhood favourite The Lockdown Room.

New perspectives were granted by the Penthouse and the conversations alike. And though the events have come to an end for the year, there is still much to explore on London City Island, an emerging cultural and creative hub in the capital.
